Welcome to Splathouse: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
Good day deviants old and new-I’m Jack, and it’s wonderful to finally be here.
I would like to begin this post by first saying thank you. The page you see before you literally would not have been possible without your support, donations and encouragement. Splathouse has grown to be the largest creative endeavor I have ever been a part of. It’s quite literally the reason I get up every morning. All that has occurred since the first entry I posted on Tumblr has been thanks to all of you.
So again, thank you. You all have no idea how much you mean to me.
With that out of the way, I’d like to go over a few things. First, if you’re new here, go check out the “What Is Splathouse?” page. It will catch you up to speed on what it is we’re about here. Go ahead-I’ll wait. We’re certainly in no rush. When you’re done, feel free to come back here.
Alright, now with that out of the way, I’d like to answer a few questions I’m sure some of you have had.
Why Move The Blog Here Instead of XYZ Platform?
Simply put, it allows me (and any future contributors I may have) complete control over our content. We’re hosted through BlueHost, which has an agreeable EULA with the kinds of content we produce here. While I personally will make use of Tumblr, Pillowfort and others for simul-uploads, Splathouse’s real home will be this page. It’s my sincere hope that this will ensure we’re able to operate indefinitely.
Likewise, this allows Splathouse even more room to grow. It’s my wish to bring aboard additional content contributors from all over the adult community. Splathouse never has been, and never will be, an individual endeavor. This blog has never been a single person-but a giant family of supporters, deviants, perverts, creatives and more. While I can not say when I’ll bring additional contributors aboard, you’ll all have an equal opportunity to apply.
You mentioned paying contributors, but the blog is free?
Bringing aboard additional contributors means that, in the long term, I’m going to attempt to monetize Splathouse.
Currently, my plans for this do not include a pay wall of any kind. Our content here is free, and open to the public. I also personally refuse to feature ads of any kind when possible on this page (I personally recommend using Ublock Origin). Splathouse will be monetized in the following fashion, if all goes well:
- Donations received through Ko-fi split equally among all contributors.
- Perhaps a patreon, where we can have an ongoing source of revenue.
- Collecting an anthology of already created works and publishing them.
- Sponsors
All of the above are dependent upon public support and overall donations. However, as editor in chief and (likely) lead contributor, I would like to state once again I will not take a single cent for personal use. Any money donated from here on out will be put towards hosting dues first, then paying our contributors. Currently, the only “bill” splathouse has is for the SoundCloud account which hosts our audio. That totals $15 dollars a month. If five people purchased a single ko-fi, this would mean we’re already breaking even.
So What’s the Future Look Like?
Right now, hopeful.
Splathouse has grown in just under three years to the point of needing it’s own site. We’re going to continue to grow as well, and I couldn’t be happier.
If you’ve any questions, please feel free to contact me at any of the links on our “Contact Info” page.
